We are pleased to invite you for a culinary dining experience while networking with industry partners. The Annual General Meeting and presentations will take place at the Dow Theatre (view Google map) and dinner will be served at Ernest's at NAIT (view Google map) on April 17, 2024.
Rob McCrea, Manager of Industry Programs and Standards at Government of Alberta will be presenting.
Nicole Mahoney, Ironworker Academic Chair at NAIT, will also be presenting. Nicole followed in her Ironworker father’s footsteps and was one of the first handful of women to apprentice as an Ironworker in the Province, which at the time had 2500 Ironworkers working in Alberta. Nicole is passionate about Ironworking and is a strong advocate for women in trades.
Tyler Hermanson, Energy Advisor, will also be joining us for a discussion on the energy code. An Architectural technologist by training and longtime home designer and Energy Advisor, Tyler has over 20 years’ experience in the design and construction of energy efficient, sustainable homes and buildings.
With an update to Alberta's Building Code underway new energy efficiency measures are coming into effect. Updates to Part 9.36 and NECB 2020 adoption continue Alberta's move to improve energy performance and harmonize with Canada's National Building Code. Tyler's presentation will start this important conversation and layout out some of the notable changes coming. With an eye beyond today and looking at implications for industry as we move towards a Tier 5 level of building.

3 course dinner is served with starch and vegetables (created daily by students). Dinner will include freshly baked bread, chef’s sorbet, and coffee/tea.

Your registration includes dinner and two drinks for use at the Dow Theatre. Please complete the following questions in the registration form linked below to register. Please note, registrants who do not attend will be invoiced $50. The registration and cancellation deadline is April 1, no cancellations will be accepted after the deadline due to meal and room booking requirements.
