James Purdy is a construction professional with over a decade of experience in the pre-engineered metal building industry. As District Sales Manager at American Buildings Company, he specializes in delivering innovative building solutions tailored to design-build projects across Alberta.

Before joining American Buildings, James spent many years in the non-combustible modular construction sector, gaining valuable insight into efficient, scalable building systems.

His expertise lies in aligning client needs with engineered solutions that emphasize durability, cost-efficiency, and architectural functionality—values that align closely with the Alberta Metal Building Association’s mission to uphold quality and integrity in the industry.

James is passionate about contributing to the continued success and growth of metal buildings and ironworking in Alberta and is committed to supporting the next generation of skilled trades through education and collaboration.

James holds a Bachelor of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce from Athabasca University. He resides in Calgary, AB with his wife and two children.
